I winched out with help of multiple teams making an uphill @maxtraxhq road and then drove home 1000+ miles. Time to put it all back and prepare for the next adventure.

This year I’m adding a new 25,000 on addition to 1:50,000, 1:100,000 and 1:200,000. As you can see, each one is double the size of the previous one. This helps in case I need to make a 1:12,000 or a 1:400,000 on the fly. #rebelleprep #navigation #plotting #womeninmotorsport #compass #maps

Last year the last day at the glamis sand dunes was very windy and made for some very soft terrain. Doing whatever I can this year to keep from having to dig out, which cost us precious minutes and energy. 📸 @desktoglory

In short order I broke a cv axle, the sway bar on the kdss system broke loose and then punctured my tire. These bead locks saved us and thanks to @v84runner we made it down the trail and fixed Luna up. Getting the loose bits off the truck before the @rebellerally! Looking for your go-to tire recommendations. 😅

Tricks of a 4th year @rebellerally team. Here ar Tricks of a 4th year @rebellerally team.

Here are some of my favorite tools for plotting. Most of these I do on-rally, with some technical enhancements I can do online.

Light: so important. While a headlight is great, as soon as I look away from the map, I lose my spot. Last year I got a @makitatools light and it’s been a game changer. Light makes the faintest roads show up!

Erasable pens/highlighters: pencil marks are the exact color as the other markings on the map. I like to get the .38 @frixion_global from @jetpens (jetpens take all my money.

1:50,000/1:200,000/1:100,000 map rulers from maptools.com. Buy multiples. Every Rebelle finds those lost 100,000 scale rulers under her seat. I’ve found a few at checkpoints.

Rulers: also from @jetpens.

Flags/stickies/tape: As soon as I look away from a number, it flies out of my head. You will be at a table with another navigator who is repeating numbers outloud. For me, writing the coordinates on the flags helps keep me focused.

Magnification: my first year I took a map to the drugstore and picked out some reading glasses. The magnifying glass is key for really zooming in on roads.

Start your navigating by finding the greens. This will help figure out the path you’ll take. After practicing for a while, I can place most greens without using a ruler.
After plotting the points, I add the same waypoints on @onxoffroad. Was I off? What do I see in the satellite view that isn’t on the map? Are there hidden roads that I can only see with 20x magnification ?

Send your map to @officedepot and have it printed as a blueprint. This beautiful map cost $5 to print.
